Smith Work Party
Saturday, June 15th, 10am-1pm The stewardship of this property is a partnership between Skagit Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy. The Smith property has mature forest, wetland areas, meadows and shoreline. It's stretch along the Sauk River is salmon habitat, and eagles winter here as well. Deer, coyote, raccoons and a variety of birds also utilize this land. In 2003, TNC's Upper Skagit Assessment, funded by the state Salmon Recovery Funding Board, identified the Smith tract as a high priority parcel. Join Skagit Land trust and The Nature Conservancy to help removal invasive policeman's helmet from this area! This easy-to-pull plant has started to to take over! Skagit Land Trust will provide gloves and tools. Please RSVP, we will be arranging a carpool as the event gets closer.

Directions: From Mt. Vernon: Drive east on SR 20. Turn right (south) on SR 530 at Rockport and travel appx. 6.5 miles. Take right (west / northwest) on Concrete Sauk Valley Road. Travel approximately 4 miles – the property will be on the north side of the road. Park on shoulder of road.
